KUCHING, Jan 4: Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy call from the 23rd Asian Television Awards (ATA) delegation, led by Minister for Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, at his office here today.

During the visit, the delegation extended an invitation to the chief minister to officiate at the 23rd ATA presentation ceremony on Jan 12 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

Kuching city will be hosting this extravagant event that would be watched by two billion viewers as it would be broadcast live across 22 countries.

The 23rd ATA, from Jan 11 to 13, features a gala dinner on the first day, while the live show with red carpet and performance awards presentation will be held on the second day, to be followed by a public concert on the third day.

A long list of Asian celebrities and high-profile influencers are expected to grace the event, including Malaysian actor/singer Alvin Chong and Via Valen, who sang the theme song for the recently concluded Asian Games.

Others are Eason Chan, Qu Wanting, Gary Valenciano, Mr Pure Energy, rising K-Pop sensation SF9 and many more.
