“The incentives will be generous and more than what is offered by other states,” he said during a press conference after officiating the opening of the Sukma Sports Village 2024 at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) today.

For comparison, Selangor and Johor are offering RM10,000 to their gold medalists, Pahang RM6,000, while Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Perlis, and Perak are offering RM5,000 each.

In the previous Sukma edition, Sarawak’s gold medalists received RM3,000 in incentives from the State government. — DayakDaily
