KUCHING, Dec 3: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has made a good choice by fielding new and young candidates for the coming 12th Sarawak Election, opines Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

The Asajaya incumbent said the new candidates announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr Abang Johari Tun Openg today are considered to be young individuals coming from diverse backgrounds, and most of them are professional.

“I think what the chief minister and other component party leaders have decided is very good. We need to have a lot of transition as well as grooming of young leaders. I see that as a very good pool of candidates,” said Karim when met by reporters after attending the Tenun Fashion Week Runaway Show 2021 held at Borneo Convention Center Kuching (BCCK), tonight.

Karim also believed that the chief minister has done his vetting on the candidates very well.

“I would say that the lineup of candidates would be accepted by voters and I do hope that they will win,” he added.
