KUCHING, March 12: i-CATS University College is set to build a second campus near Kampung Trombol in Telaga Air Kuching to provide more avenues for Sarawakians regardless of race and religion to acquire knowledge and skills, said Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

According Abang Johari, i-CATS University College does not discriminate on the basis of race or religion.

“Even if it is located in other vicinities, the element of favouritism doesn’t exist as it is not only meant for all communities in Sarawak but also targeted for students internationally,” said Abang Johari, whose text speech was read by Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Sarawak Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn during the 24th Sarawak Skills and i-CATS University College Convocation Ceremony today.

Meanwhile, Abang Johari said i-CATS University College complements the Sarawak government in its quest to develop a thriving society driven by data and innovation.

With the support of its major stakeholders from the government and industries, i-CATS University Campus is developing a range of programmes such as Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate or PhD to support Sarawak’s key economic sectors or as main engines of growth.

“These programmes are aligned with the Sarawak Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030).

“For example, recently it has launched two programmes, namely the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Agrotechnology, and Bachelor in Tourism and Hospitality (Honours).” — DayakDaily
