KUCHING, Oct 3: The Japanese government has invited the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg to Japan next week to give a talk on the prospect of producing hydrogen in Sarawak.

This was disclosed by Abang Johari himself during the launching of new cardiovascular laboratory (Cathlab), MSCT and MRI at the Normah Medical Specialist Centre today.

“Actually I’m going to Japan on an invitation by the Japanese government to talk about hydrogen in Japan next week,” he said.

On Aug 31, Abang Johari during the State-level National Day celebration had informed that he will, on his visit to Japan, share his views on hydrogen as a new fuel source in the energy transition, from carbon fuel to carbon-free fuel as part of the global fight against climate change.

In early September, he had also received an invitation to South Korea to meet and strengthen cooperation with industry leaders and investors on the development of hydrogen economy in Sarawak. — DayakDaily
