Abang Johari confirms GPS being courted by other political parties

KUCHING, Oct 18: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg today confirmed that there are ‘suitors’ seeking for the coalition’s hand in marriage ahead of 15th General Election (GE15).

He described GPS as a beautiful lady who is being courted after she has been drawing attention from other political parties.


“When you are a beautiful girl, everyone wants you.

“However, we will see first (sic). We are still in courtship, there is no decision being made yet.

“It is not an engagement yet. Even an engaged couple can break up,” he told the press after chairing the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Supreme Council and GPS Supreme Council meetings at PBB headquarters here today.

Abang Johari who is the Premier of Sarawak and PBB president, however, did not reveal who are the said suitors.

GPS comprises four component parties namely PBB, Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP), Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) and Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS).

Amongst those present at the press conference were SUPP president Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, PDP president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing and PRS president Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum. — DayakDaily
