Abang Johari announces RM57.5 million for Selangau

SELANGAU, May 5: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg announced an allocation of RM57.5 million during his walkabout in Selangau bazaar today.

The allocation included RM8 million for the Selangau Mini Sports Complex; RM5 million for the Selangau Waterfront, RM17 million for the upgrading of Pasai Siong Road; RM2 million for Phase 1 of Jalan Kemena Bawang; RM25 million for Jalan Rumah Ado, Kakus; and RM500,000 for the dining hall of SJK (C) Tong Ah in Selangau.

He also said that Selangau District Office would be upgraded as well as a Rural Transformation Centre established in Selangau town.

Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira expressed his gratitude to Abang Johari for taking the requests of Selangau people seriously.

“I thank YAB Chief Minister for his sincerity in developing the rural area of Selangau by approving the many projects people have been waiting for.

“These are some of the requests which I put forth in my speech and he readily granted them,” said Gira, a first term assemblyman.

Also present at the function were Parti Rakyat Sarawak candidate for Selangau Rita Insol, Senator Dr Nuing Jeluing and Deputy State Secretary Datu Abu Bakar Marzuki. — DayakDaily
