KUCHING, 6 Nov: Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg described the Budget 2021 as fair amid Covid-19 pandemic outbreaks.
He said the Budget would at least help Sarawak in facing the relatively difficult challenges faced, especially the current economic downturn due to the pandemic.
“So I thank the federal government for the Budget, which I think is fair in order to alleviate the challenges faced by people during these trying times,” he told reporters after officiating the Kenyalang Media Awards at a leading hotel here tonight (Nov6).
He also thanked the federal government for allocating RM41 million for the surveying of native right land for both Sarawak and Sabah.
“I am satisfied. At least it can help us in facing the relatively difficult challenges due to the pandemic. Apart from that, the government has also helped us in the ongoing development including RM4.5 billion for infrastructure,” he added.
