KUCHING, Dec 12: Repair works are still underway to rectify a 400mm ductile iron (DI) water pipe that was damaged yesterday (Dec 11) at Taman Stutong Indah during construction works on the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) Blue Line Package 2.
The incident occurred at around 12pm during ongoing works carried out under the package, undertaken by the joint venture of Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd and CRBC (M) Holdings Sdn Bhd (PESB–CRM JV).
Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd (Sarawak Metro) said it is working closely with the contractor to complete the repairs, while Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd (Sarawak Water) southern region is overseeing the rectification works.
The KUTS team is continuing on-site repair efforts, which are expected to be completed by 1am today.
Meanwhile, in a social media post by Sarawak Water, consumers in Taman Stutong Indah and the surrounding areas may continue to experience low water pressure or temporary water interruptions until the works are fully completed.
A water tanker has been mobilised to assist affected consumers.
Sarawak Metro and Sarawak Water apologised for the inconvenience caused and assured that every effort is being made to restore water supply as soon as possible. — DayakDaily
