SARATOK, Oct 18: A 94-year-old man from Rh Federick Juan in Kumpai Krian has been reported missing after heading to a nearby rubber tree farm on Thursday evening (Oct 17).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Saratok was alerted to the incident at 6.40pm, and a team of firefighters was immediately deployed to the scene.
The search and rescue (SAR) operation resumed today, with assistance from 15 longhouse residents, covering a one-kilometre radius from the last known location of the elderly man.
According to family members, he left his home towards the farm around 500 metres from the longhouse but did not return.
At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a white T-shirt and short pants.
Longhouse residents began an initial search of the surrounding areas yesterday, and firefighters later joined in. However, they were unable to locate him, and the search was called off at nearly 10pm. — DayakDaily
