KUCHING, April 11: Ninety health clinics in Sarawak will be equipped with satellite facilities by September this year.
According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu) director-general Datuk Seri Dr Yusof Ismail said this is to improve internet access in rural health facilities.
“The Ensengai health clinic is the first clinic, with the remaining expected to be completed by September this year,” he said when launching ‘Program Semarak Inovasi’ at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar here today.
He hoped the satellite technology will ensure that the public sector delivers government services more smoothly and with greater integration.
In the same ceremony, prizes were presented to the ten winners of an essay writing competition in conjunction with Innovation Month.
Essays written by civil servants have been compiled into an anthology published by Mampu in collaboration with Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) Sarawak. — DayakDaily
