KUCHING, Dec 14: Nine individuals were left homeless after fire destroyed a house in Kampung Nanga Besar in Daro today.
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, they received call at 5.20am from members of the public informing about the incident, and deployed Bomba Daro firefighters to the location.
The operation commander reported that the incident involved a house which was 70 per cent destroyed by flames.
Firefighters extinguished the fire by conducting a fire break to prevent it from spreading to nearby houses.
After successfully put out the blaze and ensuring that the situation was safe, firefighters ended the operation at 7.19am.
No casualties were reported in the incident and the cause of fire including the total loss is still being investigated. — DayakDaily
