KUCHING, March 7: An eight-year-old boy was rescued after his leg got stuck in a metal drain cover at a school in Sibu Jaya on March 6.
According to a Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) report, an emergency call was received at 1.26pm, and firefighters from the Sibu Jaya station were deployed.

Upon arrival at 1.28pm, the operations commander noted that firefighters used a power unit (RTA) spreader to widen the metal bars to release the boy’s leg.
Once rescued, a check on the boy found that he did not sustain any serious injuries from the incident.
The operation ended at 1.35pm. — DayakDaily
