MUKAH, June 6: An 80-year-old woman was found dead in a house fire in Kampung Tutus Ulu, Jalan Mukah Balingian-Mukah here today.
A spokesperson for the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received a report regarding the incident at 12.04am, before deploying firefighters from Mukah Fire Station (BBP) to the scene.
“The operation commander reported a fire involving a house inhabited by six people, where five of them managed to escape.
“An 80-year-old elderly woman was found lying under the rubble of the house,” he said in a statement today.
The victim’s body was handed over to the police for further action.
The total loss and the cause of the fire are still under investigation. — DayakDaily
