KUCHING, Nov 3: Applications for land titles by eight landowners at the Sg Apong Resettlement Scheme have been approved and the documents issued.

Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Youth secretary-general Milton Foo, in announcing this, said this marked a great step forward for 17 other applications.

Of the 17, he revealed five applications were due to deaths of landlords thus needing letters of administration (LA), seven are still under investigation by the Land and Survey Department, and five are being considered for approval.

“I’m confident that in the near future, all applicants who meet the requirements for land titles will have their wishes come true.

“My legal team and I will continue to follow up with Land and Survey, and see to the approval of all applications from the Sg Apong Resettlement Scheme,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, Foo said he also managed to obtain Temporary Occupation Licences (TOLs) for 18 households at Sg Apong Baru as of April 3. — DayakDaily
