KUCHING, Oct 3: A 77-year-old man suffered burns on his arms in a fire which engulfed a hut at Kampung Tupong Ulu in Jalan Merdeka in the early hours today.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Petra Jaya Station, with the support from Padungan Station, responded to the emergency at 3.02am and immediately deployed a team to the site.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the small hut completely destroyed by fire and swiftly took action to extinguish the flames.
The elderly man received first aid from the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team before he wad handed over to paramedics and transported to a hospital by ambulance. — DayakDaily
