73 motorcycles seized during Ops Samseng Jalanan in Miri

MIRI, May 5: Police on Saturday night confiscated a total of 73 motorcycles during the seven-hour ‘Ops Samseng Jalanan’ at the Grand Old Lady, Canada Hill.

A total of 121 traffic summonses was also issued for various traffic offences.


The operation kicked off at 9.30pm.

“Summonses were issued for various traffic offences, and during the operation, a total of 156 motorcycles were inspected,” said Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah.

He added, the operation was aimed at curbing street gangsterism, and tracking down stolen motorcycles as well as wanted individuals in this district.

Lim said 12 people were screened, and seven were detained after testing positive for syabu. — DayakDaily
