KUCHING, May 27: A ‘722 Dinner’ will be held in conjunction with the 61st anniversary of Sarawak’s independence at the Penview Convention Centre (PCC) here on July 21.
In a statement today, its organising chairman, Alim GA Mideh, urged all Sarawakians to support the event.
“Do come in your traditional costumes and with the Sarawak flag,” he added.
Alim said those who are not available to participate in the dinner could instead buy the tables as they can always bring in other ‘pejuangs’ to sit in.
He highlighted that there are 20 Golden Tables available to help finance the dinner.
Alim disclosed the Golden Tables cost RM1,000 each while the other tables cost RM750 each.
“Get 10 ‘pejuangs’, and you can buy a table to join in the celebration with us and to support the ‘Spirit Of Sarawak Independence’, ” he said.
