SIBU, July 5: A 71-year-old driver was severely injured in a two-vehicle collision at Batu 14, Jalan Sibu-Bintulu this morning.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak reported that its operation centre received a distress call at about 8.30am today and a team from Sibujaya station was swiftly dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival at the scene, the firefighters discovered the victim trapped in his car in a semi-conscious state, and had sustained severe injuries.
The firefighters acted swiftly to extricate the victim and subsequently handed him over to the on-site paramedics from the Health Ministry for further medical attention.
The other driver involved in the collision, a 37-year-old driving a Hilux truck, did not sustain any injuries. — DayakDaily
