SRI AMAN, Oct 9: An elderly man was killed after the Proton Saga he was driving collided with a Honda Jazz near the U-turn junction at Nanga Klassen, along the Sri Aman-Betong road here around 7am today.
According to a report by Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the victim was aged 71.
Upon receiving a call regarding the incident, a team from Sri Aman Fire Station (BBP) rushed to the scene and found that the victim trapped in the Proton Saga.
“The victim had a serious injury on the back of his head and was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer.
“The body of the deceased was later handed over to the police for further action,” the report said.
Bomba also reported that a 72-year-old passenger in the Proton Saga and the 32-year-old Honda Jazz driver sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital by the public before the firefighters’ arrival. — DayakDaily
