70 attend special prayer service at Kuching Buddhist Association in conjunction with 217th Police Day

KUCHING, April 19: Some 70 police personnel and guests took part in a special prayer service in conjunction with the 217th Police Day today.

Held at the Kuching Buddhist Association, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Criminal Investigation Department (CID) deputy chief ACP Lim Bak Phai reiterated that the police force will continue to stand as a symbol of protection, service, and integrity to the people of Sarawak, regardless of race or religion.

He elaborated that as the longest-serving law enforcement body, its officers have dedicated themselves to upholding the law and ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens.

At the same time, he also honoured the sacrifices and dedication of police officers, both past and present. 

“Let us also reaffirm our commitment to promoting unity, understanding, and mutual respect among all communities in Sarawak,” he said.

Speaking of the event, he said it symbolises the unity and solidarity between the faithful and law enforcement personnel, underscoring the importance of religious and cultural harmony in society.

Lim elaborated that in conjunction with this special day, Sarawak PDRM also provided financial assistance to retired and in-service police officers.
