BINTULU, Oct 16: Seven workers’ houses made of temporary structures at Jalan Sungai Nyigu were completely razed to the ground in the early hours of today.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Bintulu, assisted by the Kidurong Station, responded to the emergency at 4.22pm and swiftly deployed a team of firefighters to the scene.
The affected area, measuring approximately 60 by 100 square feet, left 25 residents displaced.
Fortunately, all occupants escaped unharmed, with no injuries or casualties reported.
Firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze by 5.19 am, and the operation was officially concluded at 7.28am after securing the site and ensuring there were no remaining sources of ignition.
The cause of the fire and the estimated losses are currently under investigation. — DayakDaily
