KUCHING, Oct 4: Seven individuals were arrested on suspicion of carrying out illegal gambling activities outside a house at Kampung Belimbing, Krokong, Bau early this morning.
A team of police from the Crime Investigation Department Bau raided the house at 12.30 am.
According to Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon, the seven suspects were gathering at the table engaging in ‘Holo’ gambling activity when the police raided the house. All the suspects were arrested and brought to the police station for investigation.
A set of ‘Holo’ gambling items, table, chairs and some cash were confiscated during the raid as well.
All the suspects will be investigated under Section 7(2) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 as well as the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 2020. -DayakDaily
