69 new homes to be built under RM20 mln Tanjung Manis expansion project

KUCHING, Feb 27: A total of 69 new homes will be developed under the RM20 million Tanjung Manis Village Expansion Scheme (SPK).

In a Facebook post, Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, said he witnessed the official handover of the Letter of Award (LoA) to the appointed contractor for the site completion and earthworks package today.

The ceremony took place at Dewan Masyarakat Tanjung Manis, with the LoA presented by the Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA).

“This project will see the construction of 69 housing units, with 39 units built in the first phase.

“Site preparation and earthworks are expected to be completed by the end of November this year,” he said.

Len Talif, who is also Kuala Rajang assemblyman and Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA) chairman, added that the development will include a 1.65-acre public recreational area, providing shared green space and promoting community wellbeing.

“The earthworks and site preparation package is valued at RM3.88 million, forming part of the overall RM20 million infrastructure allocation under the SPK Tanjung Manis initiative,” he said.

The project is being carried out under RADDA’s supervision to ensure smooth and systematic implementation for the benefit of the local community.

Among those present at the ceremony were LCDA representative Hardi Fadillah Hamzah, Mukah Division Resident Datu Kueh Lei Poh, RADDA special administrative officer Kelana Kipli, Tanjung Manis District Officer Ismail Kasah, as well as local department heads and community leaders. — DayakDaily
