KUCHING, Dec 11: A 68-year-old woman escaped unscathed after a plantation house in Jalan Kampung Apar in Bau caught fire today.
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, they received a call regarding the incident at 9.07am and deployed firefighters from the Bau station to the location.
The operations commander reported that the house, a semi-permanent structure, was destroyed by the fire.
“During the incident, the victim managed to escape to safety,” it said.
Firefighters then extinguished the flames, and the operation ended after ensuring the scene was safe.
The cause of the fire and the total losses incurred are still under investigation. — DayakDaily
