KUCHING, May 18: A search and rescue (SAR) operation has been mounted to locate a 68-year-old man who had gone missing after failing to return from a relative’s funeral in Serian on Sunday (May 17).
In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 10.38pm, and firefighters from the Serian station were deployed.
Based on the chronology of events, the victim, identified as Baluk Dayo, did not return home after attending a relative’s funeral at Kampung Koran Bari—a neighbouring village of Kampung Koran Empaneg in Serian—last Saturday (May 16).
The victim was reported missing by a family member on the same day, and initial search efforts were conducted at the incident location, but the victim’s whereabouts have yet to be determined.
The victim was also reported to have high blood pressure, heart weakness, and gastritis. — DayakDaily
