KUCHING, Aug 22: A motorcyclist succumbed to injuries sustained following an accident at Jalan Tun Abdul Rahman Yaakob yesterday (Aug 21).
According to a media statement, Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said that at 9.40am that day, there was an accident involving a car and a motorcycle.
“Through the initial investigation, it was revealed that the driver of the car, a 26-year-old woman, was driving alone from the Sesco roundabout heading to the Semariang roundabout when she collided with a motorcycle.
“The motorcyclist, a 68-year-old man, sustained severe injuries and was brought to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for treatment.
“Unfortunately, he passed away due to head injuries while the other driver was unharmed,” he said.
He added that the case is to be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death due to reckless and dangerous driving. — DayakDaily
