68 Sarawakian families affected by flood in Selangor assisted by Sarawak Volunteers

KUCHING, Dec 25: A total of 68 families from Sarawak affected by the recent devastating floods in Selangor have received food supplies and basic necessities from Sarawak Volunteers and Sarawak Coordination Office in Kuala Lumpur (PPSKL).

PPSKL director Awang Supian Awang Daud handed over the contribution to the victims with most of the 47 families involved living in the Taman Sri Muda area of Shah Alam.

According to a statement, flood assistance was also presented to other families living in Klang, Balakong, Dengkil, Cheras and several other areas around Shah Alam.


The flood relief was deployed under the instruction of Sarawak Volunteers patron Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof.

Fadillah, who is also Minister of Works, emphasised the need to identify and assist Sarawak families and children in Peninsula Malaysia affected by the massive flood which was said to be the worst to have hit Malaysia in years. — DayakDaily
