According to the police report, the incident happened at 1pm Thursday when the victim’s sibling could not find her at home.

The sibling went to search for the elderly woman in the bathing area near the river in front of their longhouse, but she was nowhere to be found.

Initial efforts to locate the victim, alongside villagers, uncovered a can of white paint and other belongings, such as soap and her clothing, drifting down approximately 100 metres from the bathing spot.

Due to unfavourable weather conditions, the search was halted at midnight before a police report was lodged to seek further assistance from authorities. — DayakDaily
