The woman, identified as Serian Luyoh, a person with disabilities (OKU), was last seen at about 11am yesterday (Jan 13) behind her longhouse at Rh Ajai Sandin, Berasok Baru, Jalan Wak. She had gone to collect vegetables while wearing a red batik-style shirt and has not been seen since.

Initial search efforts were carried out by her brother-in-law together with longhouse residents, but were unsuccessful.

The search and rescue (SAR) operation began at 2.15pm with the involvement of multiple agencies, including the police, the Civil Defence Force (APM), and the People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA). Searches were conducted within a one-kilometre radius of the victim’s last known location.

At 3.30pm, the SAR operation was divided into two teams covering two sectors using hasty search and fan-searching methods.

However, the operation was postponed at 4.45pm due to heavy rain and poor visibility, and will resume tomorrow. — DayakDaily
