66 individuals nabbed for flouting Covid-19 SOP

KUCHING, Sept 1: Sixty-six individuals were slapped with a RM1,000 fine for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout Sarawak over a 24-hour period.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, revealed that 50 compound notices were issued in Kuching, followed by Serian (14), and one each in Betong and Sarikei.

Under Ops Benteng with six roadblocks mounted in five districts comprising Lundu, Bau, Serian, Sri Aman and Lubok Antu, a total of 1.369 vehicles were inspected.

SDMC also reported that compliance checks were carried out on 1,260 premises throughout Sarawak involving 129 supermarkets, restaurants (320), factories (1), banks (63), government offices (1), hawkers (42), markets (72), houses of worship (49), recreational areas (34), construction sites (5) and others (490). ā€” DayakDaily
