KUCHING, Nov 25: Sixty-two schools or 25 per cent out of 247 identified dilapidated schools in Sarawak have been restored so far, says Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Dr Annuar Rapaee.

Meanwhile, 185 schools are in various stages of planning and construction.

He informed that the dilapidated schools were identified in 2019 and are involved in various school improvement projects by the Federal and Sarawak governments.

“After the Covid-19 pandemic, the upgrading of these dilapidated schools has started.

“Insya-Allah, we will be able to deal with this issue as soon as possible,” he said in response to Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman (PBB-Tupong) during the question-and-answer session in the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting here today. — DayakDaily
