6 State Polls: PN’s Azmin Ali returns to Hulu Kelang after 24 years despite several scandals

KUCHING, Aug 12: Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) candidate Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, has won the Hulu Kelang seat in the Selangor state polls today.

The former Selangor Menteri Besar won with a 1,166 majority against Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) Juwairiya Zulkifli, who was leading at the beginning of the race.

Azmin’s victory was somewhat astonishing since he was embroiled in several sex video involvement allegations and instigation of ‘Sheraton Move’, which led to the fall of the PH government in 2020 and his leaving PKR for Parti Bumiputera Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).

Azmin had won the Hulu Kelang seat under PKR in 1999 before switching to reign Bukit Antarabangsa seat from 2008 to 2023. — DayakDaily
