BINTULU, May 3: Six people comprising five men and a woman, escaped death after their car skidded and plunged into a massive hole at the junction of Taman Jason, Jalan Tun Hussein Onn here on Monday (May 1).
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) assistant director of operations Henderi Ardimansyah said a distress call was received at about 2.53am and firefighters were deployed to the scene.
The six victims sustained minor injuries in the freak accident. They were lifted from the pit by passers-by before the firefighters’ arrival.
First aid was administered before the six were taken to a hospital for further treatment.
It was understood that the hole was dig for water pipeline upgrading work being carried out in the area. — DayakDaily
