KUCHING, Jan 25: A 59-year-old local man died in a single-vehicle accident at Lorong Juara 1, Taman Sukma, here today.
In a statement, Kuching district police chief Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the accident occurred at approximately 7am today.
“The accident involved a car with just the driver in it that was heading towards Jalan Pending that crashed into the road shoulder. The victim was confirmed dead by paramedics from the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
“The case will be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said.
Police are appealing to any members of the public who have information on the accident to come forward by contacting traffic investigating officer Inspector Saundri Govinda Rajoo at 011-27549620 or 082-259900 or by going to the nearest police station.
In light of this, Mohd Farhan urged road users to exercise caution while driving to ensure their own safety and the safety of others on the road. — DayakDaily
