BINTULU, May 23: A 59-year-old man was burned to death after the 30-tonne truck he was driving caught fire following a crash along Jalan Kidurong this morning.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in Kidurong received an emergency call at 9.55am and promptly dispatched a team to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found that the front section of the oil palm-laden truck was fully engulfed in flames. The incident involved only the single vehicle.
Tragically, the driver was discovered charred and unresponsive in the driver’s seat.
Firefighters swiftly worked to extinguish the blaze using water from a nearby fire hydrant.
The victim’s remains were later retrieved and handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
