KUCHING, Feb 5: A 57-year-old man tragically lost his life after falling into a river near Rh Dana, Batu Lintang, Ulu Layar, Betong today.
According to a report by Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the victim was identified as Frengkie Empaga Baba.

“We received an emergency call regarding the incident at 2.40pm and a team from Betong Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at 3.02pm, approximately 20km from the town centre,” the report said.
Upon arrival, a team of three Bomba members, fully equipped with PPE, assisted the police and local villagers in retrieving the victim from the river.
The body was subsequently handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
