52yo disabled woman perishes in morning blaze at Jalan Teku, Sibu

KUCHING, July 10: The charred body of a 52-year-old disabled woman was found near the door of her room following a fire that destroyed her home at Jalan Teku, Sibu.

According to a report by the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the distress call was made at 8.04am today.

The fire, which razed three house units with non-permanent structures, was put out immediately by the team dispatched from the Sungai Merah Station, and the victim’s body was discovered at 9.27am.

The house was completely destroyed in the fire on July 10, 2024.

Based on records, there are altogether 26 residents registered under the three housing lots.
