KUCHING, July 18: Kota Sentosa sssemblyman Wilfred Yap announced that Syarikat Adeeb Nazran has been awarded the contract worth RM250,000 to construct 50 additional car parking spaces at Kota Sentosa Health Clinic under his Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) 2023 allocation.
The project is expected to be completed by mid-Nov 2024.
In a statement today, Yap stated that the parking issue was brought to his attention some two years ago, and after more than a year of dealing with bureaucratic red tape, he is delighted to hand over the letter of award and site to Syarikat Adeeb Nazran.
“Residents had complained they had to continuously circle the clinic facility due to their inability to find a parking space, causing delays in their appointment,” he revealed after handing over the letter of award to a representative from Syarikat Adeeb Nazran at Kota Sentosa Health Clinic today.
Yap highlighted that the problem of inadequate parking bays is critical as the clinic caters to hundreds of patients daily.
“The lack of parking bays and people parking at the roadside have caused traffic inconveniences to the communities around the 7th Mile area seeking treatment at the clinic.”
Yap also hoped that the health and education matters in Sarawak could be expedited by the federal government in the context of compliance with Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and the Inter-Governmental Committee Report 1962.
Yap requested officers of the appointed implementing agency, Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), to diligently monitor and supervise the construction so that it is completed on schedule and with quality finishing. — DayakDaily
