5 Covid-19 related deaths in Sarawak today, 2 brought-in-dead

KUCHING, June 4: Two out of the five Covid-19 fatalities recorded in Sarawak today were brought-in-dead (BID) cases where the victims had shown no signs of life when the medical team arrived at their homes.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the 312th and 313th Covid-19 deaths in Sri Aman and Sibu respectively were already unconscious when they were discovered by their family members.

The rapid test polymerase chain reaction (rT-PCR) tests results which were conducted following their passing, revealed that the two male victims had tested positive for Covid-19.

The other three males who died of Covid-19 were reported in Kuching, Sibu and Miri where all three of them had been experiencing symptoms of infection such as shortness of breath, fatigue, loss of appetite, fever and coughs for several days.

Fatality case number 314 in Kuching passed away at the age of 69, while case 315 in Sibu died aged 43 and number 316 which was recorded in Miri had died at 49 years old.

SDMC, in its Covid-19 daily update today, stated that all five cases had medical histories of comorbidities.

With that, the death count due to Covid-19 in Sarawak has risen to 316 as of today. — DayakDaily
