MIRI, Feb 27: Five men, including three Indonesians, were arrested yesterday for suspected involvement in motorcycle thefts here.
The suspects, aged between 28 and 36, were collared during ‘Ops Lejang’, which was conducted from morning till late evening.
They were nabbed in two places — a house in Kampung Madinah, Jalan Suai, Niah, and in an estate in Ulu Suai.
Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, when contacted, confirmed the arrests and said the suspects were currently in police custody to facilitate investigation under Section 379A of the Penal Code for motorcycle theft.
Three Indonesian suspects, meanwhile, are also being investigated under Section 6 (1)(a) of the Immigration Act 1959/63. — DayakDaily
