“While the victim was waiting by the roadside for help from a colleague, a Toyota Hilux driven by a 40-year-old local man lost control, skidded off the road, and struck the victim, who was standing on the left roadside,” he said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Hilux did not sustain any injuries.

Case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

The police urged any members of the public who may have information regarding this incident to contact Traffic Investigation Officer Insp Mohd Faizul Ab Rahim at 014-8582582/085-430479 or report to the nearest police station.

“Road users are advised to always practice safe and responsible driving, and to obey all road regulations to prevent accidents.
