46 MOTS, SRB officers take part in health and safety induction course

KUCHING, Feb 5: A total of 46 officers from the Ministry of Transport, Sarawak (MOTS) and its agency, the Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB) took part in a one-day Health and Safety Induction Course to learn about practicalities and safety culture.

MOTS in a press statement today, said the course was organised by the ministry at a local hotel, on Feb 4, 2021, and facilitated by engineering training consultant Perunding DZKIR, which was appointed by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).

“During the course, trainer, Ir. Ts. Irwanddy Bin Rosli, emphasised on the importance of health and safety at the construction site as well as shared the legal knowledge on this matter.

“From this course, the participants gained an increased awareness on the practicalities and the safety culture for construction personnel at a construction site,” it said.

MOTS added the training course is also compulsory for all construction personnel before they are allowed entry to the construction site under CIDB Act 520 (1994), Section 33.

“At the completion of this course, the officers from MOTS and SRB will receive a construction card (Green Card),” the statement read. –DayakDaily.
