4,000 residents in Kg Tabuan Lot, Kg Tabuan Tengah to be swabbed after 30 Covid-19 cases reported in past week

The ACD operation is ongoing at Kampung Tabuan Lot and Kampung Tabuan Tengah until tomorrow (July 14, 2021).

KUCHING, July 13: Some 4,000 residents of Kampung Tabuan Lot and Kampung Tabuan Tengah here will be tested for Covid-19 in a four-day active case detection (ACD) exercise that has started on Sunday (July 11).

Demak Laut assemblyman Dr Hazland Abang Hipni emphasised that the ACD was initiated after 30 infections were reported in the two villages over the past week.

“As such, ACD is conducted to trace and detect any other positive cases within the community in order to ring-fence further spread of infections.

“The ACD operation carried out by the Ministry of Health (MOH) for four days will screen about 4,000 residents in the two villages,” he told Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) when inspecting the ACD operation at Kampung Tabuan yesterday.

On the difference with this ACD, Hazland explained that residents are not required to undergo quarantine or wear a pink wristband.

“With the mass screening for four days, each day MOH will swab about 1,000 people per day.

“Hence, we urge all residents from the villages involved to give close collaboration to ensure the success and smooth processes of the ACD to curb the Covid-19,” he added. — DayakDaily
