KUCHING, Sept 27: Four people are missing when the boat they were on capsized along Sungai Krian in Saratok on Friday (Sept 26).
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 6.13pm, and firefighters from the Saratok station were deployed.
Based on the chronology of events, at 5.30pm on Friday, 10 workers from a construction company were returning from work by crossing Sungai Krian from the Sesang Jetty to the Pusa Jetty using a boat.
On the way, the boat they were on capsized, and six managed to save themselves while four went missing.
The missing victims consist of 25-year-old Mohd Asfar Sulaiman, who is a local, and three Indonesians—Gunawan Pawadi (35), Budianto Yapani (50), and Karyono (41).
A police report has been made at the Saratok station, and a search and rescue (SAR) operation has been mounted. — DayakDaily
