4 RMCO enforcers escape burning car

The car was totally destroyed in the fire

SIBU, Dec 29: Four members of a Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) enforcement team had a scare of their lives when their car caught fire last night.

Sibu district deputy police chief, Supt Collin Babat said in the 8.45pm incident, the car which was driven by a policeman suddenly belched out thick smoke from the engine compartment at the junction of Jalan Sungai Assan-Jalan Paradom.

Three other persons also in the car include a Rela member, a soldier and a civil defence force personnel.


“The team was on RMCO enforcement duty in the area when the driver, a corporal saw smoke coming out from the engine. All of them quickly rushed out from the car which was then destroyed by the fire,” he said.

Eight firemen who arrived at the scene managed to douse the flame but the car was in total ruin. — DayakDaily
