The suspects are in their 20s and 40s, said Miri City police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah in a press statement, adding that the raid was launched based on a public tip-off.

He said the suspects had no previous criminal records, but they tested positive for drugs.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects have been involved in this activity for a year prior to the raid,” he said.

Lim said Miri Narcotics CID seized nine dry plants believed to be cannabis estimated to weigh 11.70g, 86 red plastic packets containing suspected ecstasy powder (1,111.18g), 17 red foil board containing 170 pills suspected to be nimetazepam (47.32g), 90 purple plastic packets believed to be ecstasy powder weighting 1,124.52g and 8 black plastic packets of powder each with ecstasy drug (about 63.00g).
