KUCHING, Nov 25: A four-month-old infant boy from Bintulu who was brought-in-dead (BID) became the youngest Covid-19 death reported in Sarawak today.
Previously, the youngest Covid-19 related death was a five-year-old boy from Miri on Oct 9.
The infant, who did not have any medical history of illness, passed away on Nov 17.
According to a report from the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), there were six Covid-19 deaths reported today.
This brought the death toll due to Covid-19 in Sarawak to 1,575.
SDMC said two elderly men, aged 76 and 85, both from Miri and had hypertension, diabetes, chronic kidney disease and heart disease succumbed to Covid-19 on Nov 21.
Three other Covid-19 deaths were reported on Nov 22.
The first involved a 58-year-old man from Samarahan who had hypertension, diabetes and chronic kidney disease.
The second was a 23-year-old man from Sibu who had obesity and was BID.
The third was a 42-year-old man from Bintulu who had chronic liver disease. — DayakDaily
