4 men involved in cable theft in Sri Aman sentenced to jail

SRI AMAN, June 11: Four men involved in three cable theft cases in Sri Aman have pleaded guilty to the offence.

According to a TVS news report, the accused are Dean Entalai Rawing, Stephen Dinies, Goyak Empam, and Doman Yek, who are between the ages of 32 and 38.

All four pleaded guilty in the Sri Aman Magistrates Court and have been sentenced to five years in jail under Section 379 of the Penal Code and two years under Section 431A of the Penal Code.

They will carry out their prison sentence at the Sri Aman Central Prison.

Meanwhile, Sri Aman district police chief DSP Mathew Manggie warned that the police will not compromise on such actions (cable theft) that can threaten public safety and other criminal behaviour that can threaten public order.

The police welcome cooperation from the public to channel any information on criminal activities to the Sri Aman police station at 083-322035. — DayakDaily
