KUCHING, Sept 30: Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS) is calling on Sarawakian filmmakers, video creators, YouTubers, and students, regardless of age, ethnicity, or religion, to participate in its 3rd Sarawak Tourism Short Video Contest 2024 which is offering prizes totalling RM24,000.
The contest submission dateline is Oct 31. Entry to join the contest is free.
In a statement, ACCCIS said the contest is its continued efforts to promote Sarawak’s tourism industry and bolster local economic growth.
It revealed that it secured an endorsement from the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Sarawak as its supporting partner.
The contest is co-organised with Kuching Filming and Publishing Association to provide technical support.
ACCCIS disclosed that over the past two years, it had successfully organised similar contests that attracted fascinating entries from local participants.
“This year, the contest remains open to all Sarawakians at no cost, with a significantly increased prize pool totalling RM24,000. Prizes include RM10,000 for the first prize, RM6,000 for the second, RM3,000 for the third, and five consolation prizes of RM1,000 each,” it further highlighted.
ACCCIS encouraged participants to explore diverse themes such as tourist attractions, cultural heritage, culinary delights, and local experiences. Video duration should be between three to six minutes, and showcase Sarawak’s diverse cultures, scenic spots, historical sites, and unique experiences like food, adventures, and festivals in their local area.

Videos should be in MP4 format with an optimal resolution of 1920 x 1080 (minimum 1280 x 720) and a 16:9 aspect ratio.
